PPB Group hopes Budget 2020 includes initiatives to boost spending

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 4 -- PPB Group Bhd hopes the government can introduce initiatives to boost consumer spending especially for lower-income households (B40) in the upcoming Budget 2020.

Its managing director Lim Soon Huat also wanted the government to reduce the corporate tax.

“This is very important because we are in food products and one of the wishlists is to look at some sort of tax reduction.

“I think that will benefit not only the corporate or the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) but also the people on the ground,” he said during a media and analyst briefing here, today.

The government is scheduled to table the 2020 Budget in Parliament on Oct 11, 2019.
