Kesedar allocates RM3.9 million for affordable homes this year
KUALA KRAI, Oct 2 -- The South Kelantan Development Authority (Kesedar) has allocated RM3.9 million for the construction of affordable homes in areas under its jurisdiction this year.
Its chairman, Datuk Sazmi Miah said the allocation was for the construction of 88 houses in Kesedar areas in Kuala Krai, Gua Musang, Jeli and Tanah Merah districts.
The houses are built using the Industrialised Building System (IBS) and each costs about RM45,000, he said, adding that three of the houses in Kuala Krai are ready.
Sazmi said construction of the houses served as a platform for the Rural Development Ministry to bridge the gap between the people in the rural and urban areas.
He was speaking to reporters after officiating the Kesedar IBS PPRT Houses in Mengkebang here today.
He said with the upcoming tabling of the 2020 Budget, it is Kesedar’s hope that the government would consider providing additional allocation to the agency to enable it to build more affordable homes.
