Four main pillars in Terengganu's Budget 2020
KUALA TERENGGANU, Oct 7 -- Four cores will be the main pillars in the planning of the Terengganu State Budget 2020 which will be tabled on November 24th.
Menteri Besar Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar said the four pillars were to strengthen and dignify Islam, spur the economic growth of the people, sustaining a prosperous life and develop human capital.
He said the four pillars were also used as a framework in providing more comprehensive budget and symbolising the commitment of the government to the development and welfare of the people.
"We are working on the 2020 Budget and it will be tabled at the State Assembly sitting on November 24 - 28.
"We expect to receive a Special Fund from the federal government of RM1.28 billion this year and it will be included in the state budget for the purpose of development and the welfare of the people," he said after the launching of the Kolej Kemahiran Yayasan Terengganu here today.
In another development, Ahmad Samsuri said he welcomed the Shared Prosperity Vision 2030 (SPV 2030) which became the framework for the country's direction for the period 2021 to 2030.
He said the 10 goals or agenda contained in SPV 2030 were seen to provide a fairer growth for each state and spur a higher economic growth for the country.
To strengthen cooperation, he also planned to communicate with Putrajaya to ensure that the government aspirations were achieved.
The 10 targets included closing the development gap between the northern, east coast and central regions and Sabah and Sarawak; reduce the gap between high and low income groups with a Gini coefficient of 0.234 and low income (B40) group income of more than RM5,800 a month.
