Halogilat-Tenom railway upgrade will boost tourism - Azizah

KOTA KINABALU, Oct 11 -- The RM50 million allocation to upgrade the 48-kilometre railway track between Halogilat Station and Tenom Station will potentially boost the tourism sector in both the Beaufort and Tenom districts.

This is according to Beaufort member of parliament Datuk Azizah Mohd Dun, who also hoped the proposed project would be expeditiously implemented for the benefit of local passengers as well as tourists.

“Hopefully, we would also get new trains for the convenience of those who commute daily between Beaufort and Tenom,” she said when contacted through Whatsapp here today.

The allocation was announced by Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng while tabling Budget 2020 in Dewan Rakyat today.
