Increase in allocations for home and defence ministries



KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 11  -- The government is allocating RM16.9 billion to the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) and RM15.6 billion to the Defence Ministry next year.

Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng in tabling Budget 2020 today said both allocations showed an increase, from RM15.6 billion for the Home Affairs Ministry and RM13.9 billion for the Defence Ministry last year.

“The key focus going forward will be to enhance defence readiness, such as by improving the Armed Forces mobility.

“Enhanced readiness includes meeting the changing nature of threats, such as having Fast Interceptor crafts for safeguarding the waters of Sabah,” he said at the Dewan Rakyat.
