Pahang optimistic Budget 2021 will emphasise survival package for people

Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail

KUANTAN, Nov 4  -- The Pahang state government is optimistic that the Budget 2021 which will be tabled this Friday will emphasise on the survival package for the people, particularly the B40 group affected by the COVID-19 outbreak.

Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said providing direct assistance such as a one-off cash incentive for those really in need should be among the list of initiatives.

"The package should also include (indirect assistance such as) extending the moratorium period for car and housing loans as well as providing wage subsidies to employers to ensure they can retain workers in the current difficult economic situation.

"The main thing is that people must be assisted. As a government that cares and is people-oriented, it has an obligation to do its best for the people,” he told Bernama here today.
