2021 Budget: Reward for misconduct info providers

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 6 -- The government will reward individuals or parties who provide information on any misconduct or violation of the law.

Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, when tabling the 2021 Budget in the Dewan Rakyat today, said that it was part of the government’s efforts in strengthening governance and integrity in the country.

“For example (information can be given on) the issue of river pollution, which is becoming increasingly rampant resulting in the disruption of water supply in the Klang Valley," he said.

Apart from that, he said that the government would continue the national development agenda based on good governance and uphold the principle of integrity.

He said that the government would ensure that the National Anti-Corruption Plan (NACP) and the recruitment of 100 officers of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) would continue as well as the implementation of anti-corruption education at all levels.
